What to approve in a sample
Confirm finished internal dimensions, board and wrap, corner finish, lid fit, insert fit and artwork placement. Approve physical color and finish samples before production.

What is a custom rigid box?+
A rigid box is a thick, hand-assembled box made from greyboard (typically 1.5–3mm) wrapped with printed or specialty paper. Conventional rigid boxes hold their shape; purpose-designed fold-flat versions can collapse for transport. Rigid boxes are used for luxury gifting, product launches and premium retail presentation.
What structures are available for rigid boxes?+
MTT Packaging coordinates production of magnetic closure boxes, lift-off lid boxes, drawer boxes, shoulder-neck boxes, fold-flat rigid boxes and custom presentation cases. Each structure offers a different opening experience and level of protection.
What is the MOQ for custom rigid boxes?+
The minimum order quantity for custom rigid boxes is 1,000 pieces per design. The final specification and quotation depend on the structure, materials, finishes and production method.
How much does a custom rigid box cost?+
Unit cost depends on size, board thickness, wrapping paper, printing, finishes, insert material and order quantity. Send your specification and quantity for a project-specific quotation; sample/tooling charges and shipping are confirmed separately.
Can I order a sample before production?+
Yes. Physical sampling is recommended before mass production. A structural or printed sample is produced for your approval. Sampling typically takes 7–14 days depending on complexity.

Opening and lid fit
Choose a separate lift-off lid, a hinged cover or a drawer. Confirm clearance, opening resistance and the exposed shoulder height on the sample.
Board and wrapped edges
Specify the structural board and wrapping paper separately. Inspect corner joins, paper turn-ins, exposed edges and the alignment between lid and base.
Product retention
Build the cavity around the actual product, including caps and protrusions. Confirm movement, removal access and any surface that touches glass or decoration.
Artwork and finish placement
Keep foil, embossed details and print away from critical folds and joins. Review registration and the appearance of the chosen paper under normal light.
The complete set
Coordinate the insert, tissue, lift ribbon, sleeve, card and shopping bag. Size the bag around the finished outside box dimensions.
Before production
Approve a physical sample with your product inside. Confirm the specification, packing method and any required transit checks before production.
